Vistara-Air India merger will occur on November 12

Vistara has announced that ticket bookings for travel on or after November 12 will be discontinued effective September 3. After the merger, your account details from Club Vistara will automatically transfer to the Air India Flying Returns program.

On November 11, 2024, Vistara will conduct its last flight under its brand before merging its operations with Air India on November 12, 2024. This move comes after the government sanctioned Singapore Airlines' foreign direct investment (FDI) in connection with the Air India-Vistara merger. Vistara is a joint venture between Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, while Air India is fully owned by Tata Group.

After the merger, Singapore Airlines (SIA) will hold a 25.1% stake in Air India. Previously, SIA owned 49% of Vistara, with the Tata Group holding the remaining 51%.

On Friday, Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced that the union government has granted approval for its proposed foreign direct investment (FDI) into the expanded Air India Group as part of the ongoing merger with Vistara. This approval is a major milestone in the merger process, which SIA anticipates will be finalized by the end of the year, according to a statement.
